Control but also raising awareness with the legality laboratories . The local police and the administration of Sassari have intensified their action to protect the city's high school students with two projects , presented this morning at the Cine-Teatro Astra on the day entitled " I say no to drugs ".

As explained by the commander Gianni Serra "the objective is not only the repression of drug dealing that we have strengthened by creating a dog unit that now has two dogs, but above all prevention , given the alarming data of the national report on drug addiction produced by the Department for Anti-drug policies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers: in 2021 one in four students took drugs and among these 38,000 young people did so without knowing their effects or content.

There are two Sassari projects: Safe Schools , carried out in 2019/20 and the three-year one (2020-2022) called Prevention and Contrast to consumption and drug dealing in the municipal area . Both were funded by the Home Office.

In addition to the mayor Nanni Campus , Gianpietro Ghidini was present at the meeting with about three hundred high school students from Sassari. Emanuele's father recalled the drama of his son who committed suicide at the age of 16 by jumping into a river in the Brescia area after taking a synthetic drug at a party. Gianpietro Ghidini thus wrote a book, entitled "Let me fly", and opened a blog called Ema Pesciolino Rosso, which refers to the homonymous association created to offer support to young people. He has since had 1,900 meetings.

Today is the ninth anniversary of the funeral.

“The message addressed to young people is to make it clear that they have a choice: nobody forces them to take drugs or get drunk and saying 'no' helps them grow. The message for parents is to make it clear to their children that we are always there , no matter what."
