«It is a crime of impetus, Esprino was killed like an animal, with sticks. Not one or two but a good seventeen, killed like a dog and for this reason one can only ask for the maximum penalty of life imprisonment for Gian Michele Giobbe».

After almost three hours of discussion, this is the sentence requested before the Assizes court of Nuoro presided over by Mauro Pusceddu by the public prosecutor Andrea Jacopo Ghironi against Gian Michele Giobbe , accused of the crime of his uncle Esperino, the 73-year-old farmer killed on October 17, 2020 in his company of su Filighe in Orotelli .

The prosecution has retraced all the investigations, the motive due to a family land where the victim worked with her grandchildren, and the proof that for the prosecutor it is unsurpassable.

To frame the nephew (who ended up in prison on June 9, 2021), a bloodstain found in his boot following a search of the house, whose DNA was found to be compatible with that of his uncle.

The motive for the crime, according to the prosecution, would be to be found in family disputes over the management of some land in the Su Filighe countryside, for this reason another nephew of the victim, Gian Mario Giobbe, a witness in the trial, was also investigated. Today, the prosecutor requested the transmission of the documents for perjury for him.

The defendant, charged with the crime of murder aggravated by cruelty , is assisted by lawyers Lorenzo Soro and Mario Pittalis, while the wife and daughters of the 73-year-old are represented by Gianfranco Flore and Giuseppe Mocci.
