McDonald's donates 150 hot meals a week to the needy: the initiative, which involves some affiliated local entities, in the fast food restaurants of Sestu – on the ex 131 – and Quartucciu (alle Vele).

The restaurant work teams take care of preparing the meals, collected and distributed to the Car.P. San Sebastiano M. group of Elmas and to the Vincentian Conference Opera Speciale Mensa del Viandante of Quartu.

The donations in the Cagliari area are part of “Always Open to Donating,” the charitable initiative by McDonald's and the Ronald McDonald Children's Foundation, created during the pandemic to provide comfort to those most in need and support local communities in a time of emergency.

Since then, we read in a note, "the project has been renewed every year and in the last four editions it has allowed us to donate, thanks to the collaboration with Banco Alimentare, Comunità di Sant'Egidio and hundreds of other local charitable organizations, over 750 thousand hot meals throughout Italy."

The new edition aims to offer 250,000 hot meals by May 2025, thus reaching the milestone of 1 million meals donated since the initiative was launched in 2020.
