Quartu is without water, with one problem after another: "Water supply was cut off 90 minutes earlier."

Businesses forced to close, and furious residents who don't even have time to stock up. Abbanoa had announced a water shutoff for all of Quartu, excluding the coast, starting today at 10:30 a.m. for repairs to a main near the roundabout between Via Marconi and Viale Colombo. By 9 a.m., the taps were already dry.
Thus, residents getting ready for work didn't even have time to fill buckets and tubs because they found themselves without water an hour and a half earlier than expected. Even some businesses that had decided to open, like the hair salon on Via Vespucci, taking advantage of at least the early hours of the morning to welcome customers, were forced to lower their shutters.
"These situations are absurd and incomprehensible," complains Pitz'e Serra resident Mario Sotgiu. "It's not just about stocking up on supplies. There are bedridden people waiting for the nurse to even be bathed, and his schedule had been brought forward, given the scheduled 10:30 a.m. break, but then by 9 a.m. there was no water."
Work is continuing at this time, with completion expected between 5 and 6:45 PM. The water may be cloudy when work resumes.
The work also created traffic chaos. Long queues formed on both Viale Colombo and Via Marconi, as well as on intermediate streets such as Via Cagliari, Via Brigata Sassari, and Via Nenni.
