Fear struck this morning in Quartu, where two cars collided at the intersection of Via Porcu and Via Merello, one of the most dangerous in the city. Both drivers were at the stop sign, indicated by clearly visible signs, while they await the repaving of the road markings.

Upon impact, one of the two cars overturned and ended up in front of a house's gate. Fortunately, there was no one on the sidewalk or in front of the house at the time, otherwise it would have ended in tragedy . Local police officers arrived on the scene and conducted an investigation. They will now determine who is responsible. The double stop signs had been installed at the city's most dangerous intersections precisely to reduce accidents. Following this measure, collisions with double stop signs have virtually disappeared.

For example, they have been traced between via Vittorio Emanuele-La Marmora, Zara-Milan, Merello-Perra, Fadda-San Francesco-via Cimitero, Diaz-Sicilia, Boito-Palestrina, Merello-Principessa Jolanda, Gramsci-Malipiero, Cagliari-Dante, Fiume-Fratelli Bandiera, Principessa Jolanda-Mercantini and Manara-Vico.

There was also an accident at Poetto, where, as a motorist reported on social media, a car, apparently speeding, collided with his vehicle, which was parked in the parking lot of the four-lane highway. Hence, an appeal for witnesses has been issued.
