Acquitted of the charge of insulting a public official. The sentence in court in Sassari for a case dating back to mid-April last year and which happened in Alghero was issued yesterday.

A local police officer filed a complaint after a quarrel with a 53-year-old resident in the Catalan city. An altercation caused at the beginning by the fact that the accused, according to the policeman, did not wear the mask provided against Covid correctly . The reaction led the exponent of the police to ask for the documents and then to proceed with the verbal complaint of the administrative violation. From this moment the man would have addressed several offensive phrases to the agent, inviting him, among other things, to "make minutes inside the supermarket" and not to him.

The clash then continued also within the local Police Headquarters when the 53-year-old , according to the complainant, allegedly snatched the notification sheet from the hands of the Municipal representative and in front of a colleague . Judge Anna Pintore decided for the acquittal of the accused, defended by the lawyer Pier Giovanni Arru, because the fact does not exist . The titular prosecutor was Angelo Beccu, replaced yesterday in the courtroom by the prosecutor Francesca Pala. Stefano Carboni instead the lawyer of the civil party of the injured person.
