Porto Torres, violent crash on the former 131: 90-year-old man admitted to intensive care dies

Antonio Corda, the 90-year-old man who was seriously injured in the accident yesterday around 6:00 PM on the former provincial road 131, at the entrance to the city of Porto Torres, died this afternoon. His condition worsened in the last few hours , following his admission to the intensive care unit of Sassari Civil Hospital.
In the crash, which occurred around 6:00 PM near the Sorso turnoff, the 90-year-old suffered fractures to his limbs, a head and facial trauma, and injuries to his abdomen and chest. When emergency services arrived, the elderly man was alert and conscious, despite suffering serious injuries. The situation is now even worse for the driver of the Alfa Brera, who struck the three-wheeler at high speed, throwing the pensioner onto the asphalt, and then drove away without stopping to provide assistance.
After fleeing, the driver abandoned the vehicle not far from the accident site, in the Serra Li Pozzi neighborhood, where he was located by the Carabinieri. Only later did the 35-year-old from Porto Torres voluntarily report to the police station, accompanied by his lawyers.
