The engine explodes and his car is engulfed in flames. The owner of the car, a worker originally from Basilicata but resident in Porto Torres, is miraculously saved thanks to a decisive alertness.

His outdated Peugeot 307 caught fire as he was about to refuel at the Conad petrol station in via delle Vigne.

The driver noticed that suspicious smoke was emitting from the engine.

"I realized that smoke was coming out of the hood - said the owner of the vehicle - so I looked for a safer place".

He decided to move the car and pull over to the nearby parking lot and suddenly left, alarming the 115 and asking for help. In a few minutes the car caught fire from top to bottom, the flames completely destroyed the vehicle.

The roar was also heard from a distance. Fortunately, the man was unharmed.

Of the Peugeot 307, however, nothing is left . The fire was put out by the firefighters of the Porto Torres detachment. The situation was monitored by a Local Police patrol who rushed to the scene.
