He was seriously injured in an accident that took place last September 28 in Dolianova while he was traveling aboard his electric bicycle. Raffaele Degioannis, 68 years old from Cagliari, died at the Brotzu hospital after several days of agony. The trauma proved fatal.

The Public Prosecutor of Cagliari has opened a file for road murder, while the carabinieri of the Radiomobile are reconstructing the dynamics. The pensioner, for reasons to be ascertained, was overwhelmed in via Cagliari by a Peugeot driven by a 34-year-old from Dolianova who was proceeding in the same direction as him and who in turn had been hit by another Peugeot driven by a peer and with on board his wife and two minor children.

The cyclist's conditions immediately appeared desperate and, in an ambulance, he was transported to the Brotzu.

Well known in Cagliari, where he ran a newsagent until a year ago, Degioannis leaves behind a daughter, a son, three brothers and two sisters.

The family members, through Studio 3A-Valore Spa to which they have entrusted themselves, ask for full light to be shed on the tragedy.

In the next few hours, since the autopsy has not been ordered, the authorization will be given for the fixing of the funeral.
