The operation carried out by the Guardia di Finanza of the provincial command of Sassari in the matter of disclosure of industrial secrets against a former employee of a company in Ivrea active in the production of wine capsules is called "Oro di Gallura".

The investigations were carried out by the Olbia Group, under the direction of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Ivrea and Tempio Pausania.

Profiles of criminal liability have emerged for a 57-year-old entrepreneur, domiciled in Olbia, who had worked as a mechanical fitter within the Piedmontese company until August 2019. The suspect would have managed to deceive a maintenance worker , his former colleague, to film, with the use of a smartphone, the functioning of an innovative machine that produces cages for closing sparkling wine corks with particular efficiency.

In this way man would have succeeded in gaining possession of relevant information such as, for example, the shape of some external components of the machine and the sequence of singular wire working movements.

The elements deceptively collected, i.e. the information on the setting of the machine, on the timing of the movements and on the development of the same, constitute information destined to remain secret, because it is protected by the rules on the protection of industrial patents, and would have been used by the man who , after his experience as an employee of the Ivrea company, he appears to have set up his own individual company for the manufacture of machine tools for metal forming with registered office and main place of business in Tempio Pausania where he intended to use the secrets for his own and others' profit industrialists fraudulently stolen.
