The response to the criticism comes in the form of a calendar. After protests from the minority over the lack of a summer program, the Municipality presents "Summer Lights 2026," a program that will bring events to the historic center and Torre Grande until the end of August.
The festival, promoted by the Departments of Tourism, Culture, Entertainment, and Productive Activities, brings together events organized by the Municipality, associations, cultural institutions, and businesses with the aim of livening up the city throughout the summer season and supporting commerce.
The calendar will encompass the city center's main venues, from Piazza Eleonora to Piazza Manno, from Piazza Duomo to the Foro Boario, as well as the city museums and the Torre Grande waterfront. Highlights include the regional finals of Miss Italia Sardegna, the return of Shopping Sotto le Stelle, the Folklore Festival, Estate in Ballo, the Sardinian Dance evenings, the Dromos Festival events, initiatives by the Alba Pani Passino Concert Association and the Oristano Foundation, as well as the Notte dei Sapori (Night of Flavors), the Wine Street Experience Sardegna, and numerous sporting events, including the Catte Cup.
Contemporary art will also be featured with the "Studio di Studi" project, which will feature meetings, workshops, and exhibitions at the Foro Boario until October. Torre Grande will also offer a dedicated program, including the ArTò craft market, concerts, beach yoga, evening markets, and a whole week of events for Ferragosto (August 15th).
"With Luci d'Estate," observes Mayor Massimiliano Sanna, "we're offering a rich and diverse program that showcases Oristano's cultural, artistic, and identity-building heritage and offers opportunities for recreation and socializing for all ages."
