Two races, three non-competitive events and a total of 1400 participants: for the runners' community, the Sardinian road season opens with the Oristano Half Marathon - Gianni Murgia Memorial.

«The eleventh edition, scheduled for Sunday, will be a showcase for the island's athletes», promise Roberto Sassu and Mauro Gabbrielli, president and vice president of Dinamica Sardegna , the company that organizes the event with the patronage of Fidal Sardegna, Fispes, Csen, the Sports Department of the Municipality, the Province of Oristano and the Fondazione di Sardegna.

For everyone , staggered departures in via Duomo at 9:30. The route of the main test, the 21.097 km one, includes the turning point at the tourist port of Torregrande, the second one will arrive up to the roundabout that intersects the provincial road 1. In all, a thousand registered with Francesco Mei from Olbia among the "lighthouses".

Others can opt for the 10 km non-competitive , the 10 km fit walking or the recreational walking: a 4 km route to discover the historic city centre .

The walk will be led by the SeuinStreet Band and will end in Piazza Manno, a place dear to the young student - killed by her mother in 2023 in Silì - who attended the “Eleonora d'Arborea” middle school .

Another new feature of the 2025 edition will be located in Piazza Manno: the Oristano Half Marathon Village, which will feature various local sports associations.

Given the great success of the event and to ensure an efficient organization, registrations for the non-competitive trials will be limited to Saturday 8 March only, with the possibility of registering from 4pm to 8pm, at Palazzo Arcais, in Corso Umberto.
