The City Council gave the go-ahead unanimously (15 councilors present in the chamber) to councilor Sergio Locci's motion on the protection of the landscape and the location of renewable energy plants in the area.

The document commits the mayor, the council and the assembly to «promote every legal action for the protection and protection of the territory from any speculative activity linked and/or connected to the possible installation of industrial plants for the production of renewable energy».

It is also requested to activate, together with the civic administrations involved in projects, a discussion with the population to define "political and administrative actions in defense of the territory".

Finally, the motion aims to encourage "membership of the renewable energy community being established in Oristano, in line with the 2030 agenda".
