The mayor: "Give us a million for the Inversol fire". But the Region denies cost coverage

The Region denies the request for disbursement of an extraordinary fund to cover the expenses, incurred by the Municipality of Porto Torres, to deal with the emergency and remediation following the devastating Inversol fire that developed on 27 July 2019 in the industrial area . Costs equal to 970 thousand and 588 euros that will be borne by the municipal coffers. The institution used its free administration surplus to pay the sums spent for the management of the emergency resulting from the fire, which three years ago developed in via Domenico Millelire, destroying the shed used by the Inversol company for the storage of materials. paints and solvents, and by the company É Ambiente Impianti srl for the treatment and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste, including sanitary ware. The Directorate General of Civil Protection - emergency overcoming service of the Region, in recent days has rejected the request for allocation of funds presented by the mayor Massimo Mulas, an application already submitted by the previous administration in July 2020. A justification that does not convince the mayor Mulas who has decided to make a further request, pending the identification of the person responsible for the contamination. The investigating judge of the Court of Sassari, in fact, ordered the dismissal of the proceedings on 18 August 2020 and the civil action for ascertaining responsibility, still in the extrajudicial phase, promises to be long and difficult.
