At San Francesco in Nuoro, the infectious and tropical diseases clinic will be open from May 2nd. A highly anticipated service, which enriches the hospital structure, dedicated to all pathologies caused by infectious agents, namely viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites that are contracted through contagion. It intends to offer an answer to the most common infectious pathologies, but not only, through a team of medical specialists and cutting-edge diagnostic instruments.
The new service will make use of the team, doctors and nurses, who have already made the Infectious Diseases department of San Francesco a consolidated reality . Starting with the director Antonina Carai, supported by a team of infectious disease specialists: Alessandra Bitti, Agnese Colpani, Vito Fiore, Marco Fois, Maria Chiara Meloni and Beatrice Zauli. «The activity of the new service», explains Dr. Carai, «will be aimed particularly at the diagnosis and treatment of the most common infectious diseases of the respiratory, urinary, osteoarticular, hepatobiliary, skin and soft tissue systems, with particular reference to immunocompromised subjects also following immunosuppressive or immunomodulatory therapies; but also viral infections, traveler's fever and diarrhea and zoonoses».
«The Outpatient Clinic», declares the general director of the ASL 3 of Nuoro, Paolo Cannas, «represents a further expansion of the specialist offer of the Hospital Outpatient Centre: a bet won thanks to the work of those who have always believed in it , starting with the Organizational Function Officer Francesco Tuvoni and his entire staff of collaborators».
