Since 31 December, two family doctors and a pediatrician have retired in Nuoro . Thus, approximately one sixth of the residents of the Barbagia capital, six thousand people, today find themselves without basic healthcare .

The shortage of white coats also affects the capital, where each doctor is supposed to care for 1,500 patients, but the majority are well beyond the exemption that allows each doctor to care for 1,800 people .

But already from Monday it will be possible to make a new choice of doctor: from January 15th, in fact, two new general practitioners will arrive in the city .

This is Dr. Riccardo Ferrarelli who can be chosen from January 15th, while from January 16th patients will be able to opt for Dr. Michela Deriu .

ASL 3 reminds you that the choice can be made online via the Health Card portal, or at the counter of the choice and revocation office in the Community San Francesco Nuoro house, with entrance from via Brigata Sassari.

The healthcare company also reminds that priority will be given to users without healthcare and who are fragile. A significant influx is expected considering that hundreds of patients have been without a family doctor for up to a year.

For this reason the ASL warns that "a maximum of 250/300 choices per day can be made at the counters".

Opening hours are from Monday to Friday, from 8.30 to 13.00, and in the afternoon of Tuesday and Thursday from 15.00 to 17.00
