The Court of Assizes of Appeal of Cagliari presided over by Massimo Costantino Poddighe has redetermined the sentence for Ettore Sini, the former prison officer of Bono, 52 years old, sentencing him to 28 years in prison for the crime of Ozieri's former partner Romina Meloni , which took place in Nuoro on 31 March 2019, and for the attempted murder of Gabriele Fois from Nuoro, the victim's new companion, who was seriously injured that day.
In November, the judges of the Court of Cassation annulled, by referral to the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Cagliari, the sentence regarding the denial in the previous judgments of the recognition of the generic extenuating circumstances and any judgment of unbalancing.
Sini, defended by Lorenzo Soro and Pasquale Ramazzotti, already sentenced in the first instance and in an appeal to life imprisonment , was charged with premeditated voluntary murder, attempted murder, while the aggravating circumstance of having committed the crime for futile reasons had been annulled by the Cassation. A few minutes ago the sentence was re-determined with the annulment of the life sentence and the sentence of 28 years.
