The motion of no confidence was rejected: 36 votes against, 21 in favor, one abstention. The Chamber also elected the secretaries of the Bureau Gianfranco Satta (Progressives) and Michele Ciusa (M5S). The Council will meet on Tuesday 4 April.

The debate had begun with the no-confidence motion of the oppositions against Solinas - present in the Chamber - on the agenda after the favorable opinion in the Conference of Regions on the Calderoli law on differentiated autonomies.

The session was preceded by a summit of the majority group leaders convened by the president of the Assembly Michele Pais, with the aim of verifying which positions the centre-right forces will take in the Chamber. According to what has emerged, controversial interventions by Forza Italia are not excluded from the discussion. Certainly the leader of the League Michele Ennas will take the floor, while the advisers of the Brothers of Italy will probably remain silent.

Meanwhile , at the beginning of the session, the councilor of the M5S Desirè Manca announced, on behalf of all the minority groups, a motion of no confidence against the councilor for health Carlo Doria after the controversy over the failure to convene the opposition councilors on the issues concerning the health of Northern Sardinia.

THE DISCUSSION – Eighteen speeches, so far, during the discussion of the motion of no confidence in Christian Solinas for the opinion in favor of the Calderoli law on differentiated autonomies. Only three of the majority. The first by Domenico Gallus (Psd'Az) who strenuously defended the president. Of a different tenor those of the Forza Italia advisers Marco Tedde and Alessandra Zedda. In particular, the former councilor argued that the opinion expressed in the Conference of the Regions should have been "concerted". Zedda also reiterated Forza Italia's position already expressed months ago, namely the request for an acceleration in this last phase of the Legislature on issues such as the Reform of local authorities, air continuity and internal transport, on health "considering that Ares and ASL do not dialogue ». Now, he concluded, "we ask you to use the remaining time to be able to tell the Sardinians that in 2019 they chose well". Gallus spoke of "strong exploitation of the minority, given that in the text on autonomies there is no reference to the weakening of the institutions of special autonomy".

According to the first signatory of the motion, Gianfranco Ganau , "the Council has been debased and excluded from fundamental choices for our Island, the majority colleagues who vote against this motion will be co-responsible for the debasement of this Assembly". Addressing the Majority, Roberto Deriu of the Democratic Party said that "this vote of no confidence must make you discuss, I say it to you who confirm your trust in someone you intend to revoke: we will see if you will be able to re-nominate Solinas for a second term". Francesco Agus (Progressives) spoke of Solinas' contempt "for this Chamber and, all in all, for our Statute".

After the interventions of the group leaders, the governor took the floor. Then the vote on the motion.
