An endless night of prayer from Sinnai to Cagliari for the 38th pilgrimage on foot to Bonaria promoted by the "Il Segno" association and the parishes of Sinnai. There was a great mobilization despite the unfavorable weather conditions with the prayer travelers who, after the mass concelebrated in Piazza Sant'Isidoro by the Archbishop of Cagliari Giuseppe Baturi, by the Egyptian Carmelite father based in Madrid, Father Botros Pietro Fahin, by various priests, they crossed Sinnai, Selargius, Monserrato, Pirri to then reach Cagliari.
Before the start of the Holy Mass, in Piazza Sant'Isidoro, the S'Arrodia di Sinnai male polyphonic choir and the greeting of Monsignor Giuseppe Baturi, Archbishop of Cagliari: "It is the fifth year in a row that I have come to Sinnai at the beginning of this beautiful procession that will cross many towns towards the Madonna di Bonaria. In some way it represents the journey of all of us, of this Christian people, of Sardinia, certain of the destination which is the embrace of the Madonna and certain of the reason for the journey on which we go, there are those who pray, those who give thanks and in this moment we need to pray for peace and therefore Don Pedro, of Egyptian origin who has always worked also in Spain which unites the two shores of the Mediterranean, will celebrate and help us to pray precisely for peace which is certainly the responsibility of men but is also a gift from God that we never tire of seeking. This journey of a people crossing these centers towards a single destination is a beautiful sign."
In the images the beginning of the religious celebrations with the arrival of the Madonna of Bonaria on the altar set up in Piazza Sant'Isidoro. The hymn of the Madonna di Bonaria, patroness of Sardinia, protector of sailors is unmissable: “Of Bonaria, Celeste Queen, hello, oh mother that heaven has given us, Sardinia greets you and devoutly bows, rejoicing for you. Mysterious from Iberian shores your image one day set sail. O great Virgin, who sits in heaven, please tell us who sent you to us. Blessed be the Lord and your mother wanted to send you to Sardinia...".
Mass presided over by Father Botros Pietro Fahim of the order of Discalced Carmelites and attended by the parish priest of Sinnai Father Gabriele, the parish priest of Settimo San Pietro Don Giuseppe Orrù and many other celebrants.
Finally the arrival at the Basilica of Bonaria and the blessings to the many faithful present.
