Road closures, checkpoints, restricted routes, and tight security: for the New Year's Eve concert that will bring Fedez to Piazza Roma, Oristano has implemented a comprehensive security system, designed to safely manage the arrival of thousands of people in the heart of the city.
The plan was finalized at the Prefecture, during the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety, chaired by Prefect Salvatore Angieri, with the participation of the mayor, law enforcement, firefighters, Areus, and the Pro Loco (Tourist Information Office), which is organizing the event. The shared goal is maximum public safety.
The core of the system will be the access gates to Piazza Roma, based on the model already tested for the Sartiglia. The concert venue will be able to accommodate up to 4,400 spectators, with limited entry and monitored by people counting. The gates will be manned by 24 security personnel, supported by the Pro Loco. A dedicated medical system is also planned, with the possible activation of an advanced first aid station, and enhanced security services will be provided, with the local police on the front lines alongside other law enforcement agencies.
To complete the picture, the mayoral ordinances: a ban on spirits from 6 pm, a ban on the sale of beverages in glass and cans, and a complete ban on firecrackers and fireworks. Only plastic bottles without caps will be allowed in the concert area.
Regarding traffic, the operational plan will begin on December 31st at 6:00 PM. The area around Piazza Roma will be closed to traffic with New Jersey barriers and barriers, with restrictions on the main access routes and dedicated routes for emergency vehicles guaranteed at all times. For the public, parking areas with over 4,700 spaces have been identified, with changes to local public transport routes.
