The extra flights for the Christmas holidays have been announced , but are not there. Because the request of the companies (Ita and Volotea) to Enac is missing. Meanwhile, moving to and from the Peninsula is impossible: places (almost) sold out.

To clarify the continuity connections to and from Sardinia in the coming weeks is a note from the National Civil Aviation Authority, which speaks of "press reports on the need to increase flights during the Christmas holidays and the end of the year ». The organization reports that it has already "contacted the airlines operating at Sardinian airports to start the authorization process". But " at the moment it is awaiting requests from the same carriers for additional flights to and from the Sardinian airports, as well as the authorization from the Region".

In theory everything should be ready, but it seems that some steps are missing, despite official communications from Ita and Volotea, also transferred to the regional transport department.

"Once the flight schedule has been received, the authorization can be issued by ENAC quickly", continues the note, "given that the Authority has already carried out the necessary investigation to verify its compatibility for the routes charged, with particular reference to the availability of slots at the airports concerned".

On paper, 26 more connections are planned for the holidays: the routes that will be, or should be, most strengthened are those between Cagliari and Milan and Rome. But four more connections are also expected to Olbia and, perhaps, Alghero.
