For six years he had been threatening a family in Monserrato, putting in the mailboxes of his "victims", under the windshield wipers of cars and scattering paper sheets torn from notebooks and containing defamatory epithets all over the place. At times, the messages also contained clear death threats addressed indiscriminately to family members.

After the lawsuit against unknown persons filed by the interested parties, the carabinieri identified the stalker, a 67-year-old retiree who does not seem to have had problems with the persecuted family in the past.

The man, who did not provide particular explanations on the actions carried out, was referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Cagliari for defamation, threat, persecutory acts and disturbance to the person.
