Tensions within the majority in Monserrato do not subside. After the decision of the civic list "Monserrato in Movimento" not to remove the support of the council despite the very tough stances against the mayor Tomaso Locci , "guilty" of having sent away the now former deputy mayor and councilor Maristella Lecca (replaced by Paola Piroddi at the helm of the Department of the Environment), the mayor goes on the counterattack.

In a post on Facebook he talks about "new balances" between majority and opposition and says he no longer considers the two members of the "rebel" list Alessio Locci and Nicola Mameli , as members of the majority in the City Council.

"Following the attempts to overturn the outcome given by citizens and the polls in 2019 through messes and palace games - writes Locci - we have come to the painful awareness, shared with the rest of the majority team who remained faithful to the agreements made with the citizens, that, after the unsuccessful attempt of the Monserrato in Movimento group and despite the latest statements by the group's directors asking to be able to remain in the majority, there are no longer the conditions of trust and respect that can make the group remain composed of the directors Nicola Mameli and Alessio Locci within the majority team ”.

The mayor communicates to the president of the municipal council Piergiorgio Massidda, “the impossibility of considering the two councilors and the Monserrato in Movimento group still organic to the majority. According to the provisions of the Tuel (Consolidated Law on Local Authorities, nda), the municipal statute and the regulation on the conduct of the Council and the Board Commissions - continues Locci - we ask the President of the Chamber to put in place all the necessary measures to reconstitute in the commissions the correct proportion between majority and opposition, only preparatory to the implementation of the mandate program through which we have engaged with the citizens ”.
