More migrants arrive on the Sulcis coast. After the large number of arrivals recorded in recent days, this afternoon another 21 migrants were intercepted by the Italian Finance Police's ATR 72 aircraft and reached by personnel from the Guardia di Finanza's naval operations unit in Sant'Antioco.
The group of twenty men and one woman were aboard two small boats preparing to reach the coast between Cape Teulada and the island of Sant'Antioco, now a destination for migrants from Algeria and Tunisia.
After being accompanied to the commercial port of Sant'Antioco, the group was met by shore-based Finance Police personnel and Frontex officials.
Meanwhile, another small boat carrying eight people has been located about 10 miles away and will soon be transferred to port. Both groups, after initial checks on land, will be transferred to the Monastir reception center, escorted by patrol cars from the Iglesias police station.
