Road accident last night on provincial road 15 in the Maracalagonis area: a 16-year-old boy, a student, was traveling along the road on his bike, in the direction of Maracalagonis. A car, a Panda, was traveling in the same lane.

The collision was sudden, with the young man catapulted onto the asphalt, where he remained lifeless. Help was immediately provided by passing motorists, who also triggered the alarm. Then the arrival of a 118 ambulance, with the transfer of the injured person in code red to the Monserrato Polyclinic.

During the night, the young cyclist was transferred to Brotzu where he was admitted to intensive care with a reserved prognosis. He is now in a medically induced coma.

The Carabinieri from the Mobile Radio Unit arrived at the site of the accident and carried out the legal findings: there is no public lighting on that stretch of provincial road.

The military coordinated by Captain Ignazio Cabras, commander of the Quartu radiomobile unit, seized both the car and the bike to carry out the technical assessments necessary to verify any possible responsibility. Strict confidentiality is maintained in this regard.
