Eight more precautionary measures (seven arrests and one residence ban) as part of the major operation "Termine" against drug dealing in Sardinia.

In the early hours of the morning, the Carabinieri from the Cagliari Provincial Command executed eight arrest warrants against as many suspects, both Italian and foreign, accused of repeatedly selling narcotics on behalf of the main members of the organization, with which they allegedly collaborated without, however, being members.
The operation, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Carbonia Carabinieri Company, supported by the territorially competent Commands, under the direction of the Cagliari District Anti-Mafia Directorate, arose from the developments of the raid of October 6th, which led to 62 personal precautionary measures (of which 50 in prison, nine under house arrest, two orders to remain in residence, and one prohibition to remain in residence).

Today's outcome followed interrogations, following which eight further precautionary measures were issued: three in prison (a 52-year-old and a 55-year-old from Iglesias, a 36-year-old from Carbonia), four under house arrest (a 49-year-old and a 32-year-old from Girasole, a 42-year-old from Oschiri and a 52-year-old from Iglesias), and one banishment from Sardinia (a 31-year-old Albanian resident in Cascina).

Operation “Termine”

This is a further phase of Operation "Termine", an investigative activity conducted from January 2022 to March 2024 by the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Carabinieri Company of Carbonia, which led to the hypothesis of the existence of two Sardinian associations in contact with alleged Albanian criminals in Tuscany and Veneto : one association which is thought to be of a "traditional" type, dedicated to the procurement on the peninsula and the sale in Sardinia of cocaine and heroin, and one of an "instrumental" type, made up of professional truck drivers, hierarchically organised, charged - according to the hypothesis - with transporting the drugs to Sardinia on their own articulated trucks after having received them from Albanian suppliers on the peninsula , delivering in exchange the money obtained on the island from Sardinian wholesalers for the purchase of new batches.

The same investigation also identified the alleged organizers of a kidnapping in Sant'Anna Arresi on April 3, 2023.
The operation as a whole has so far seized: 127 kilos of cocaine, 7 kilos of heroin, 53 kilos of hashish, and one kilo of marijuana. In addition, 47 weapons (hunting rifles, assault rifles, submachine guns, semi-automatic pistols, revolvers, hand grenades, and ammunition of various types and calibers) and €380,000 in cash.
