In Santa Teresa , "low quality tourism" and "cloned goods" : the words come from a tourist, in a letter to L'Unione Sarda, who bought a small apartment in the Gallura town twenty years ago. A disappointing investment, at least according to his statements (here is the letter) .

Dario Giagoni , a member of the League who lives in the town, took the stand:

«Dear Union, allow me to reply to Mr.'s letter. Giuliano Cantarelli regarding the free declarations on the community of Santa Teresa Gallura, which I have been proud to frequent since I was a child and still reside there with great pride today.

I want to express all my disappointment for the hasty and biased analysis which clearly distorts reality, and with which it offends an entire community and its institutional representatives, including myself as a Deputy of the Republic.

Allow me, dear reader, to point out, contrary to what you stated, that in the last twenty years community services have increased, considering the fact that in the summer period the needs increase due to the large number of tourists who peacefully invade our territory, guaranteeing the economic well-being of the population with a spin-off that perhaps you don't even imagine.

Ours is also a cross-border country, in fact nearby Corsica lands right in Santa Teresa where it finds a safe haven in the commercial area of the port, where the municipality and region over time have always committed and invested huge resources to improve safety and infrastructures access to the port area.

The town is full of clubs, restaurants, pizzerias, pastry shops, lounge bars, ice cream parlors, take-away delicatessens where the categorical imperative is certainly to guarantee services and quality to its customers, also because if everyone thought like you, many would have already lowered their prices. shutters due to lack of customers can't you find?

I admit that someone may have disappointed you, but as you know, we can't lump everything together, quotes an old popular saying that has never been so apt.

His is a clear distortion of reality, with a sometimes depressing view, as an insider as the owner of a design studio until some time ago, before actively dealing with politics, the figure of 500 houses also seems to me to be overestimated for sale, and even if it reflected reality we would need to analyze the causes, which certainly cannot be attributed either to the lack of services or to the cloned foods that you mention in your questionable note.

Have you ever been to any of the excellent farmhouses in the area? How can you say that they present poor quality food, when there is a very specific regulation to be respected, precisely to safeguard the quality and the local zero kilometer product.

In some places within the town, there are a number of kitchen brigades led in some cases by first-rate starred chefs, who with their culinary art enhance the history and gastronomic traditions of the places and of Gallura more generally.

You perhaps belong to that category of people who very easily leave negative reviews on Tripadvisor, Santa Teresa and its citizens do not deserve this sort of fury with non-constructive criticism and above all without a recipe for improvement!

Do you think that a few days ago I savored again the pleasure of regaining possession of places and panoramas of incomparable beauty and unique landscape value, I'm talking about the Valle della Luna which, thanks to the commitment of the same administration that you criticize, has ordered the eviction of the places occupied by a group of young so-called flower children, but who had nothing to do with those places, I dare say the most beautiful in the world!

Next time be more thoughtful and perhaps less offensive towards our community!

I greet you cordially and next time come and visit me, I will gladly take you to eat a meal cloned by our grandmothers.

Dario Giagoni."
