After two years of pandemic, we are back in the streets also in Sardinia to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the day in which Italy was liberated from Nazi-fascism and the path towards the Republic began.

"This April 25 has a very particular and very important meaning - said the President of the Chamber Roberto Fico -. Meanwhile, we must always remember that our Constitution and our Republic derive from the fight against Nazi-fascism and the resistance has contributed in a decisive and significant way. to the liberation of our country. So we owe everything we are today to the struggle of that period ".

So, referring to the Russian war in Ukraine, “resistance is resistance - he added -. This is a case of violation of all rights, of international law, of the entry of another country into a sovereign and democratic nation, so it is clear that the fight in this case is resistance ".

THE EVENTS - In Cagliari there will be a procession starting at 10 from Piazza Garibaldi, stopping at the war memorial in via Sonnino, in the presence of the Prefect and other civil and military authorities and associations of former combatants and weapons, therefore the 'arrival in Piazza del Carmine where there will be interventions from the stage and the songs of the National Partisans of Italy.

At 11, however, "DonneAmbienteSardegna" and "Sardegna clean" organize an event dedicated to Julian Assange, the journalist and founder of Wikileaks "deprived of his freedom and freedom of the press" because "Julian Assange free is worth freedom for all of us". The demonstration is scheduled at 11 in Piazza Yenne, in front of the statue of Carlo Felice.

In Sassari at 10, in the courtyard of Palazzo Ducale, the national anthem will begin the ceremony with speeches by the prefect of Sassari, Paola Dessì, by the president of the Sassari section of the Anpi, Thomas Arras, and by the mayor Nanni Campus. There will then be the deposition of laurel wreaths, in honor of the fallen, in the plaque dedicated to April 25th.

The Municipality and the Prefecture of Oristano will also lay a wreath in front of the war memorial in Piazza Mariano, at 8.30, while in Nuoro the appointment is at 9.45 at the Military Memorial of the cemetery for the greetings of the mayor and the prefect and laying of the laurel wreath of the municipal administration.
