A farmer was burned while trying to save his farm from a massive fire that is ravaging the countryside around Osilo, in the Sassari province. His life is not in danger.
The fire was declared a fire hazard due to the large number of businesses in the area, some of which were evacuated (a total of around ten people) as a precaution.
Two Canadairs, a Superpuma, a helicopter from the regional fleet and the fire brigade's Drago helicopter are responding to the scene.
While the fire in Orosei (Nuoro) is being cleared, Mayor Elisa Farris announced that 150 people have been evacuated from homes and residences following the flames that broke out this morning in the Su Crastu-Sos Alinos area . "They have been housed in the council chamber and in the church of Sant'Antonio in Sos Alinos."
Nuoro Fire Brigade teams are currently working on multiple fire fronts: two teams are responding to a small fire in the Borore area, and three teams are responding to fires in the Cardedu and Barisardo areas of Ogliastra, where a helicopter is also responding.
Meanwhile, the flames have started again at Punta Molentis , in Villasimius, where yesterday around 200 people were evacuated by sea and dozens of cars were destroyed.
