An illegal subletting business was discovered by the police in Cagliari .

The agents of the Second Section "contrasting widespread crime, foreign and prostitution" of the Flying Squad carried out a check yesterday in an apartment in the Villanova district. The house, in poor hygienic and sanitary conditions, was occupied by 12 immigrants including a woman from Ukraine: 10 had a regular residence permit, two were without one.

The house, rented by an Italian with a regular lease contract to a Bengali citizen, had in turn been sublet by the latter to non-EU citizens of various nationalities. The occupants had to pay a monthly rent ranging from 100 to 300 euros.

The Bengali will be sanctioned and reported to the competent authorities with fines ranging from 5 thousand to 10 thousand euros.
