Insufficient hospital beds (only 2.8 per 10,000 inhabitants in high-care specialties); poor home care (guaranteed to just 1.7% of the elderly); refusal of care (12.3% of Sardinians have to forgo due to high costs, long waiting times and inefficiency of the facilities); dissatisfied health workers; high passive mobility . There are many points that contribute to making the picture of healthcare on the Island increasingly alarming.

The Cisl raises the alarm again, and calls for urgent interventions and strategic planning.

In an open letter sent to Governor Alessandra Todde and group leaders in the Regional Council, the union proposes a detailed plan to reform the regional health system, based on immediate interventions and structural reforms.

"We believe that the problems cannot be solved with yet another governance reform, which in this situation the health system would not be able to handle", underlines the Cisl. " Sardinian health needs an immediate and structural relaunch . We ask the Sardinia Region, the Regional Council and the institutions to assume clear and determined responsibility. We can no longer tolerate empty promises and immobility. It is time to act, with courage and vision".
