A chase, which took place during the night in the streets of Cagliari, ended with an arrest. A 42-year-old from Quartu was in handcuffs for resistance to a public official, personal injury and aggravated damage.

The man was driving a Smart in viale Merello but, seeing the police car, he accelerated along viale Trento at high speed. The agents began the chase which continued along Viale Sant'Avendrace and the streets in the San Michele district, ending in Via Cadello.

In those ten minutes of madness, the Smart rammed the service car that had managed to pull over to further order a halt. But the driver's lightning-fast move risked crushing the agent's arm, causing damage to the right side of the patrol.

Once the car was blocked, the 42-year-old was placed in safe conditions and accompanied to the offices of the Police Headquarters.

During the investigations it emerged that the escape was due to the fact that the man did not have a driving license as he never obtained it.
