An initiative to spread in Sardinia starting from schools the culture of extra virgin olive oil, the "good" one, and the importance of the Mediterranean diet, of which extra virgin olive oil represents an irreplaceable element.

The regional food education initiative organized by Campagna Amica Sardegna and Apos with Campagna Amica Cagliari, Sassari, Nuoro, Oristano arrives again this year with the title "Good oil".

An informative and tasting journey that will offer the opportunity to explore all the phases that contribute to creating this precious natural product.

During the journey, various aspects will be examined, including olive varieties, cultivation techniques, harvesting and pressing.

THE PROJECT – You will be able to taste oils from different areas of Sardinia, discovering the different nuances of flavor and aroma that characterize each territory. The tastings will consist of various tastings of oils, with the aim of being able to identify their characteristics, food pairings and rational use in balanced meals.

CAMPAGNA AMICA – «A product that unites the whole of Sardinia - the words of the Campagna Amica regional manager, Serafino Mura - all the geographical areas of the island produce high quality extra virgin olive oil but with different flavors linked to the territory. A varied heritage, therefore, but united by excellent organoleptic characteristics. The school represents the ideal place to communicate the importance of conscious use within a diet that includes fresh, seasonal and local products, and some of the planned initiatives will be held directly in the Campagna Amica markets".

APOS – For the president of Apos Antonello Fois the project "represents what is fundamental for our Association, that is, contributing to the formation and dissemination of the noble product Extra Virgin Olive Oil, closely linked with our regional historicity. To date Sardinia is increasingly a protagonist in the most prestigious markets and competitions at a national and international level and it is important to be "prophets in the homeland" starting from the new generations, training their sensorial abilities and territorial awareness".

Participating in the initiative are the Women's Business Association, the technicians of Campagna Amica, expert tasters, oil sommeliers and the technicians of the Olivicola Association. Municipalities and schools, among others, participate. Commit
