In Sardinia the contagion curve starts to rise again, in contrast with the national data which sees a decrease after 13 weeks of increase in new cases.

In the week between 19 and 25 January the number of cases currently positive per 100 thousand inhabitants worsened (1,425 against 1,304 in the last survey) and new cases increased by 11.3%, while last week there was a drop of 1.5%.

These are the data highlighted by Gimbe in his usual weekly report.

The most critical situation is in the center of the island. Nuoro, 1,369 weekly infections per 100 thousand inhabitants, and Oristano, 1,254, show very intense circulation of the virus. Lower incidence in the metropolitan city of Cagliari (486), in Southern Sardinia (344) and in Sassarese (340).

The pressure is still rising in the medical departments, where it reaches 20.6%, and the beds in intensive care (15.2%) occupied by Covid-19 patients remain above the saturation threshold.
