A permanent Civil Protection station will arrive in Pirri: it will be located in the area of via Pisano (in Terramaini, next to via Italia) which has now been almost completely abandoned by IsGas (now Medea), which has taken on the obligation of reclamation and cleaning.

The decision emerges from a resolution approved by Massimo Zedda's council, which closes the dispute with the company managing the propane gas network, which started in 2023 on those very lands.

In June of last year Medea moved and had expressed the will to return that area to the Municipality. The practice had not been completed and had remained pending, so much so that the Spa had sent a formal notice to the administration, through a lawyer.

A conciliation was reached and the Municipality imposed a series of requirements: characterization of the soil, possible remediation, removal of asbestos, removal of waste and – last but not least – the elimination of large tanks. The company accepted and the minutes of the agreement will be signed shortly, which will bring the Civil Protection to an area with a high hydrogeological risk.
