Fog over Cagliari , flights diverted and delays at Elmas. Arriving first, and departing later. An inseparable cause-effect relationship is that between poor visibility and inconvenience for those who have to land at Sardinia's main airport. Problems affect travelers who have to take off. Time shifts, up to more than three hours, have chain repercussions for almost the whole day.

This morning the passengers of flight AZ 01554 from Milan who should have landed at 8.45 at the Mario Mameli airport paid the heaviest price. Visibility at that hour was zero: after a long circular overflight of Capo Carbonara, the decision was made to divert to Alghero.

Other aircraft expected in the following minutes had to wait for the fog to clear. The weather situation normalized around 10.30. The Volotea from Rome, scheduled for 9.50, was delayed by almost an hour and a half. Like the ITA which also took off from Fiumicino. The same difficulties for Ryanair arriving from Malpensa and Venice,

Obvious repercussions also on departures, because crews and aircraft are the same. The greatest inconveniences, of course, are linked to the transfer of the Ita flight to Fertilia, which was supposed to leave again for Milan: the take-off took place over three hours late.
