And four. The Region, with the fourth tender, is still on the hunt for helicopters to deploy on the firefighting front: a machine that this year is struggling under the weight of delivered but defective vehicles, tenders for aerial intervention deserted by the companies and ground teams with increasingly smaller (numerically) and older (personally) personnel.

After three (almost) unsuccessful attempts - there are only five vehicles available - the regional offices turn to the market again with a tender divided into six lots, for as many helicopters - one medium heavy, one medium and four light - to be deployed in the bases of Limbara or Villasalto, Sorgono, Bosa, Fenosu, Marganai and San Cosimo.

At stake are 5,833,720 euros for 2024, with the possibility of renewal for successful two years. The race, with the flames starting to rise every day, is of an urgent nature. Any interested companies can submit their offers by July 1st.

Meanwhile, the fires multiply. And if in recent seasons the Canadairs only intervened in the most difficult situations, now almost not a day goes by without them being forced to take off to support the disabled firefighting machine in this 2024 campaign . The last takeoff in chronological order yesterday for an intervention in Putzu Idu: two Canadianairs employed, four helicopters. One hundred hectares went to ash.
