The operations to put out the fire that started yesterday in Orotelli , in the P.ta Su Venosu area, continued throughout the night and continue this morning.

The men of the forestry corps are in action on site, the activities are coordinated by the DOS (Director of firefighting operations) belonging to the patrol of the Orani forestry corps which in these hours has arranged, through its operations room, to send a Canadair.

Since the night, 4 teams of the Nuoro firefighters have been operating for a total of 20 men and 10 vehicles, and 5 men from the forestry corps, all coordinated by the advanced command post managed by the Nuoro Fire Brigade official supported by a TAS expert and SAPR personnel sent by the Sardinia Regional Directorate.

The fire brigade staff is providing the first estimates of the hectares burned thanks to the drones flying over.

The extinguishing operations, constantly monitored by the Nuoro COP, are made difficult by the impervious orography and the lack of communication routes.
