Moments of fear in Ozieri: yesterday evening around 9.30pm, the firefighters intervened in the apartment on via Meridda due to the risk that it would blow up .

A 64-year-old man, after having turned on the gas of some LPG cylinders inside his apartment, locked the house and alerted the police, threatening to commit a massacre before fleeing.

The fear that there was someone inside made people fear the worst. It was the firefighters who broke down the door and discovered that there was no one inside the house.

The ex-wife was tracked down shortly after by the military: the man had said he had killed her, perhaps to set a trap for the carabinieri . At that moment, however, the woman was somewhere else, far from Ozieri. The residents also heard gunshots , so much so that they remained locked in their homes out of fear.

After an hour of searching he was found in his garden, inside the tool shed. Once arrested he was taken to the barracks. In recent days the 64-year-old had been sentenced to nine months in prison for having defaced the commemorative plaque of the carabiniere Walter Frau in Ped'e Semene.
