Giovanni Fanni, a 47-year-old accountant from Cagliari, didn't make it : the head trauma suffered in last night's accident between Viale Poetto and Viale Campioni d'Italia was too serious. The man was hit by an electric scooter, together with his family (his wife and two six-year-old twin sons) while crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing .
Fanni's condition immediately appeared very serious. Accompanied to hospital by 118, he fell into a coma: the Brotzu doctors did everything possible to save his life. At the end of the morning the news of his death . One of the twins, the boy , was also taken by ambulance to Brotzu: he is out of danger in the pediatric surgery department . The man's wife and his other daughter were unharmed but in shock. They were taken under the care of 118 personnel and remained in the ambulance for some time.
The findings were carried out by officers of the Local Police of Cagliari. The driver of the electric scooter (headed from Poetto towards Cagliari) hit the family who was crossing the pedestrian crossing on their way home after an evening out. The young man who was driving the moped was left in a state of shock as he witnessed the rescue efforts. He will now be investigated for vehicular homicide . The scooter was seized.
