The celebrations in honor of Saint Ignatius will begin this evening , between faith and conviviality, in the square of the same name in Esterzili.
Thus the village festivals of Barbagia di Seulo start from the small town at the foot of Mount Santa Vittoria.
Established almost forty years ago, the May festival in honor of Saint Ignatius has always been organized by girls and boys of twenty-five years of age, but as time flies away, leaving a faint trace, the classes are increasingly fewer .
Faced with the difficulty of setting up an organizing committee for the festival every year, the real resource is friendship which, accompanied by a great desire to do things, has united twenty young people, born between 1995 and 1999 , to ensure that this too May the year of Saint Ignatius be celebrated with all honours.
It is the third year that this under 30 group has organized the party.
THE PROGRAM – It starts at 6.30 pm with the procession through the streets of the historic center of Esterzile. Accompanying her is Luca Lai's accordion which will alternate with the Rosary sung by the women and men of the town. Following the mass celebrated by Don Alfredo Diaz in the church dedicated to the Saint. The committee also organized a small aperitif to greet the people from Esterzile who will participate. The civil celebration, however, will begin at 10.30pm again in Piazza Sant'Ignazio. “Mondo Super”, the tribute to Luciano Ligabue, will open the dance, but the absolute protagonist of the evening will be DJ Sandro Murru. Then we will dance until dawn with DJ Ivano Pinna from Tonara.
