A lesson in politics and history, coherence and humanity. The exhibition " The places and words of Enrico Berlinguer" inaugurated this morning at the EugenioTavolara Craft Pavilion in Sassari is impressive and significant. Conceived by the Enrico Berlinguer Association of Rome together with the Gramsci Foundation, it was organized in the hometown of the secretary of the PCI by the Enrico Berlinguer Foundation of Sardinia with the Municipality of Sassari, the contribution of the Region of Sardinia, the collaboration of the Foundation of Sardinia and the patronage of the University of Sassari.

The exhibition can be visited free of charge until March 19, every day from 10 am to 8 pm except Mondays. On April 5, it will be transferred to Cagliari where it will be further enriched with other material.

The exhibition features 50 video documents that can be consulted via tablets and large touch screens, audio testimonies, manuscripts and typescripts, about sixty photos, books and magazines and a timeline that compares Italian events during Enrico Berlinguer's life with world events.

The documentary material has been organized into five thematic sections: the affections, the manager, the Italian crisis, the global dimension, current events and the future.

The inauguration was attended by his daughters Bianca and Maria, Salvatore Cherchi and Ugo Sposetti, presidents respectively of the Enrico Berlinguer Foundation and the Enrico Berlinguer Association, Gavino Angius, member of the national secretariat of the Communist Party during the Berlinguer period and several representatives of the Sardinia Region and the Municipality of Sassari.
