€8 million seized from five people involved in the “Polo Ovest” operation, which led to 21 arrests in Sardinia last December ( HERE are the names of those arrested).
Today, March 25, the Anti-Mafia Investigative Directorate executed a seizure order aimed at confiscation issued by the Cagliari investigating judge against some of the individuals involved in the major operation against drug trafficking between Sardinia and the rest of the Italian peninsula .
The seizure involved five properties, ten cars and motorcycles, five companies (one of which was registered abroad), various lands, and 12 bank accounts . These illicit profits, according to the investigating judge's hypothesis, are among the main organizers and executors of the criminal syndicate.
The investigations allowed them to quantify the illicit proceeds and the system put in place to conceal the gains. The suspects, with the enormous wealth they accumulated, made large investments, and during the investigation , several front men recruited to conceal the illicit origins of the money were also identified .
Among those targeted in the massive seizure is one of Marco Raduano's supporters, who allegedly helped the Puglia crime boss escape from Badu 'e Carros prison . Investigators estimate the total turnover to be approximately €8 million.
