Overwork for relief efforts and the forces of order today in Domusnovas where the disappearance of Guido Pintus, a 78-year-old bricklayer found dead (of natural causes) yesterday evening in the countryside of the town, was already mourned.

In the morning the alarm went off in the "Solidarity" accommodation community for the removal of a 63-year-old from Villamassargia , suffering from mental problems and entrusted to a support administrator. The staff of the community (managed by a cooperative) warned the elderly mother and then looked for him in the vicinity of the structure and extended searches throughout the country, also mobilizing the civil protection, some associations and finally the carabinieri.

The searches didn't give results until 2.30 pm when a phone call revealed that the man had reached Villamassargia on foot and was at the home of an acquaintance . Shaken but in good health, the 63-year-old has made it clear that he wants to join his elderly mother who is suffering from various health problems in this period.

«It gave us a good scare - says Maria Gesualda Pierazzi, director of the cooperative - but luckily everything ended for the best. Our guest had been promised that for the holidays he would be able to see his mother again and this morning, taking advantage of a moment of freedom, he disappeared to join her». In the afternoon, the director was expected in the police station for the man's re-entrustment procedures.

Around 2 pm a further alarm went off for a woman suffering from a stroke . The 118 station alerted the air rescue service to shorten the rescue time for the elderly woman but, initially expected at the Paolo Putzolu sports facility, the vehicle preferred to land in a green area not far from the woman's home, in via Bruno Buzzi. Transported there by an ambulance, the elderly woman was taken over by the personnel of the air rescue service and urgently transported to the Brotzu in Cagliari.

In both cases, the mayor Isangela Mascia followed every stage of the relief efforts.
