First case of Delta Plus variant in Northern Sardinia. It was identified by the laboratory of Microbiology and Virology of the Aou of Sassari directed by Professor Salvatore Rubino on the swab of a patient returned from a trip abroad.

In total, the laboratory sequenced about seventy swabs from the North East of the island, including that of the patient who tested positive for Delta Plus.

The same laboratory is completing the sequencing process of the positive swab carried out in recent days to the passenger who landed at Alghero airport after the trip to South Africa.

The result is expected tomorrow, Monday 6 December.
