Investigations continue to shed light on the death of Tonino Corrias, the 59-year-old farmer shot dead yesterday morning in front of his house, a few meters from the Oliena Town Hall.
An autopsy will be performed in the next few hours by coroner Vindice Mingioni at the San Francesco di Nuoro hospital.
From the results of the examinations, the investigators, coordinated by the prosecutor Ireno Satta, hope to be able to obtain information and clues useful for the investigation, to be cross-referenced with the elements collected by the RIS experts at the site of the ambush, where the victim was surprised by one or more assassins as she had just gotten into the car to reach her fold in the countryside of the town. From what we learn, the shots fired would have been at least eight.
For over 20 years the farmer had been in the sights of the attacks and had escaped death in two other ambushes.
The first in the countryside, when he was wounded in the shoulder and arm, the second in 2015, when the shots hit the windshield of the car he was driving.
The videos of the video surveillance cameras in the area are also being examined by the carabinieri, who are collecting testimonies from family members and acquaintances.
The military is also working to ascertain a possible link with the bloody feud of Oliena, which resulted from some kidnappings, which between 2001 and 2003 caused seven deaths.
