Covid: intensive buildings and hospitalizations, but the numbers on the island remain high
Positive signs, but there is still a long way to go out of the new wave
The descent of the curve of the Covid-19 epidemic begins to show signs of slowing down in infections, but the situation of hospitalizations in intensive care and in the medical area remains stable, with overall numbers still very high.
In Sardinia, the latest Agenas survey speaks of a percentage of beds occupied by Covid patients in intensive care units, which is still at 13%, and therefore three percentage points still above the threshold value. Stable situation also in the medical area, where the percentage of beds occupied remains at 23%, and therefore still well above the threshold value of 15%.
Certainly, caution is still needed because "the diffusion of any Omicron variants and the intensity of the last part of the winter season will play a fundamental role, especially now that the obligation to wear an outdoor mask has lapsed for ten days", observes the mathematician. Giovanni Sebastiani, of the Institute for the Applications of Computing "M.Picone", of the National Research Council (Cnr).
Yesterday Sardinia recorded more than a thousand infections (1,043), and another 5 deaths .
IN ITALY - Within 24 hours, according to the daily monitoring of the National Agency of Regional Health Services, the percentage of beds in intensive care occupied by patients with Covid-19 grows in 3 regions: Calabria (at 14%), Umbria (9%), Veneto (6%). And it drops in 3 regions: Friuli Venezia Giulia (10%), Liguria (11%), Sicily (11%). The rate, on the other hand, is stable in the other 15 regions and provinces.
With regard to the occupancy of beds in medical (or "non-critical") departments by patients with Covid-19, on a daily basis the percentage increases in Calabria (31%), Emilia Romagna (20%), Marche (27%). While it falls in Friuli Venezia Giulia (25%), Piedmont (18%), Umbria (26%). The rate is stable in the other 15 regions.
All regions and autonomous provinces, except 5 (Lombardy, Molise, Pa Trento, Valle d'Aosta, Veneto), are over the threshold of 15% of medical (or non-critical) beds occupied by patients with Covid-19 .
