Covid in Sardinia: 24 new cases. A 61-year-old woman dies in Oristano
The number of patients in intensive care is decreasing, while the data on hospitalizations in the medical area are stable

Data on the Covid epidemic in Sardinia remain under control. The new monitoring released by ISS and the Ministry of Health reports that the island is the Italian region with the lowest incidence of infections compared to the population (7.9 per 100 thousand inhabitants) and even the new daily cases remain stable. The same is true of the numbers on hospitalizations, while the number of patients assisted in intensive care is decreasing.
Here is the full bulletin released by the regional authorities on Friday 22 October 2021: “In Sardinia today there are 24 further confirmed cases of COVID positivity (same number recorded yesterday, ed), on the basis of 2,173 people tested. A total of 11,370 tests were processed, including molecular and antigenic.
There are 10 patients admitted to intensive care units (two fewer than yesterday).
The patients hospitalized in the medical area are 58 (no change compared to yesterday).
1,333 are the cases of home isolation (17 fewer than yesterday).
The death of a 61-year-old woman residing in the Province of Oristano is recorded (even yesterday only one death, ed) ".
