Child overdose: critical condition. Parents: "He found heroin in the park"

The 18-month-old boy admitted to the Sassari hospital for heroin overdose is in critical condition.

From what is learned, the parents, of Nigerian origin, have provided the agents of the Mobile Police Station with their version of the facts, according to which the little boy found and collected, last Thursday, a packet of drugs in a city park. After returning home, his mother would put him to bed and, realizing that he could no longer wake up, would have given the alarm to 118.

But this version does not convince the investigators, who suspect that instead the child came into contact with the heroin while he was in the family's home. In fact, it seems that the couple is already known to the police for investigations concerning drugs.

The police also carried out an inspection of the house, without finding traces of drugs. But the inspection took place on Friday, therefore 24 hours after the illness accused by the child, then rushed to the Santissima Annunziata.

The investigations continue to shed full light on the incident.
