Carbonia is besieged by flames. At least two fires broke out this afternoon in the outskirts of the city. The largest are in Medau Piredda and Barbusi.

On the first front , two Canadair aircraft and two helicopters were requested , one from the Army and the other from the regional fleet, which took off from the Villasalto base. The fire reached the SP2 highway, causing traffic disruptions.

In Barbusi , firefighters, along with other teams on the ground, intervened to block the flames from spreading towards several homes. Residents also took part in the extinguishing operations.

Meanwhile, a fire in Ottana forced the closure of the 131 DCN towards Olbia: traffic was diverted onto State Road 129 at kilometer 26.
